Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

First let me say, if you’ve not heard Angie Burns and Felicia Patton sing this, you’ve missed out.

Trust with ALL of my heart? Acknowledge him in ALL of my ways? That sounds like a full-time job. But it also makes for a fun full-time relationship. This makes me think again of my brother’s blog… mentioning how much fun my dad has living in the kingdom. I think I might have just stumbled upon his secret.

(If you haven’t read it already, go to Dusty’s blog @
http://rustydush.wordpress.com and read the post titled Fun at the World Series.)

"Thus, as far as we are concerned, we should not want health more than illness, wealth more than poverty, fame more than disgrace, a long life more than a short one, and similarly for all the rest, but we should desire and choose only what helps us more towards the end for which we are created."

This was a part of one of the first principles of Ignatian spiritual discipline that Angie mentioned yesterday on her blog. A very small part, but it really hit me. I felt this idea really tied into Proverbs 3:5-6. I feel myself often asking "why". Many of you know(because you may have prayed for me)I have struggled with many health problems recently. I did go to nursing school, so I have a little "understanding". This (the heath things) may be my fault because I am not eating enough fruits or veggies, or water, or if the house were sterile, or better vitamin, or if I started juicing again, or if the kids were not continually getting dirty. It goes on and on. I am not saying these things don't help a little, but there needs to be peace, that comes from trusting in the Lord with all my heart......
Wow Jeff pick on me for having conversations with myself. I think I am just processing things in my mind out loud. Carry on.

Amy G, Thanks for thinking out loud here. Does us all some good. And tell Jeff that I'm still cracking up over his Tommy Boy post.

Amy... Whaaduudooo? Funny story for all... Doesn't have anything to do with Proverbs...however, must be told.
Amy just came to me while I was brushing my teeth and said, "What does a computer look like when it crashes with a virus?" I said, "I don't know... what?" To which she said, "I was getting online and the letter 'h' kept repeating itself in the address bar for the internet, and then I had trouble shutting down... so I turned off the power switch." Ok no probs... lets go check it out. First, you should know, it is dark in our room. We turn on the computer and it starts beeping over and over and won't start up. I sat down to see what was up... pulled the keyboard out... and took the headphones off the 'h' key. And it works fine... virus over.. solved... no more!!! Amazing what an MIS degree can do for you these days. Anyway, we had a good laugh about it and thought we'd share. Gotta go.. "bees... bees... bees, they're everywhere... run for your lives!!"

Sidebar. Wendy Chapel does not have a blog. (See previous comments...fear of Dusty.)
Chris Chapel had a blog called the Big Blog of Nothing. Very important material such as Checkbook Talk and Top 20 Biggest Bags of Nothing: Nancy Grace, the View, Camryn Manheim, Bill O'Reilly, Brad Garrett, you see where we're going with this. Very important.

Ooops. Bag of nothing meaning the show - not the person.
