Proverbs 24:3-4

“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its room are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.”

This verse takes me back to a warm, safe, love filled home. Sure, it wasn’t perfect, but there were rare and beautiful treasures in every room. With a loving, care giving mother and a fun, faith instilling father, our home was full. I hope that the home my kids see is similar… or at least growing that way.

Any specifics about the treasures in your home, current or past, that you would like to share?

Hey Tim... I'm still here, friend! As an aside, I'd like to think that my non-response to a couple of your previous posts is just b/c I was moderating my blog or b/c it was over the weekend...

Truth be told, recently I've been doing some heavy thinking about the poor and my finances. Your admonitions from Proverbs serve as one of many big red arrows pointing to things God is trying to get me to address... I've been sponsoring a child through World Vision, but I don't do anything in my own community... I've never had a single penny of debt in my life, but I am a poor steward of what I have now. So, God is convicting me that some things need to change. And I can't even go there without His wisdom!

Those rare and beautiful treasures... Growing up, my grandmother was my spiritual treasure. Now, all these years later... my parents have experienced God's transforming power. And whenever we pray, I know I'm really rrrrrrich, baby!

Hey Ang,

Your blog has been very good for me. At one point, I wanted to get a little argumentative, but a comment by Amy G made me think better of it. We are the contact with Christ that some of those guys have right now. How great that the Christians on your blog are speaking grace. With all the evil that is out there on the web, how great to see God using it for his purpose. He is very powerful through you.

SO JOKING! I really need a laugh. Blogging's been way serious for me lately!

Your blog couldn't have come at a better time for me. I am in great need of God's wisdom & this is a constant reminder. And thank you and Kim so much for being a part of the insanity... Kim's comment has particularly stayed with me... LOVE HER!
